The Angleton Police Department host TECLOSE credited training for itself and is open to any Texas Peace officer to attend. Sergeant Quenton Rush is in charge of the training and is the contact person to schedule any training. The following Fees apply, Tuition: Intermediate (ICC) classes $10 ten dollars. Mandatory (update) classes $5 five dollars. You can download a training request form below and submit it to Sergeant Rush.
- COURSE # 2107 - ICC USE OF FORCE
This Intermediate core course provides the officer with up to date information on use of force laws and policies used in today's law enforcement profession. This course is designed with class room and hands -on training combined to give the officer realistic scenarios encountered while on patrol. Class size is limited to 20 students.
DATES: August 26-27, 2010 (16 hrs - $10.00) - COURSE # 3843 - CRISIS INTERVENTION UPDATE
This course is designed to provide law enforcement officers with necessary training in dealing with persons with mental illnesses, including communication, active listening, non-physical approach, and recognizing signs of mental illness. This training will increase officer safety and give the officer different referral options. Class size is limited to 20 students.
DATES: September 9, 2010 (8 hrs - $5.00) - TDD/TTY BASIC
This course will be taught by Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC). Content will cover basic use and information for using TDD/TTY hearing impaired system. Class size will be limited to 40 students. Registration must be done through HGAC.
DATES: September 15, 2010 (8hrs - no charge) - OC -SPRAY CERTIFICATION/RE-CERTIFICATION
This is a certification/re-certification course for the officer that carries O.C. Spray as a non-lethal force option. This course will provide information regarding the use of OC sprays and effective delivery methods. Exposure is required for the certification only! Class size is limited to 20 students.
DATES: September 21, 2010 (4 hrs - no charge) - SFST- UPDATE CLASS
This course will present officers with updated information to administer standardized field sobriety testing following guidelines approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety Scientific Department. This will allow officers to properly determine intoxication with proven, scientific methods. Class size is limited to 20 students.

This course is designed to provide the student with several techniques for effective interviews, statement analysis, and interrogation methods. Class size is limited to 20 students.
DATES: TBA, 2010 (16 hrs - $20.00) - DOPE FOR DUMMIES
This is a comprehensive and basic class for patrol officer who wish to enhance their knowledge of basic narcotics investigation and interdiction practices. This course will give the basics on developing probable cause, writing affidavits, searches, identifying narcotics, evidence collection, working with K9, and basic interdiction.
DATES: November 1-4, 2010 (32 hrs - $30.00) - COURSE # 3939 - CULTURAL DIVERSITY
This course fulfills all requirements for the mandated and update class. Class size is limited to 20 students.

Topics include child abuse, sexual assault, sex offenders, family violence, and legislative updates. Class is limited to 20 students.
