The Police Department currently is accepting applications for 1 Patrol Opening, 2 Dispatch openings, and 1 part time Janitor. Application

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• Must have graduated from an accredited High School
• Must meet the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education Standards for Licensing
• Must have completed an approved state police academy and hold at least a Texas Basic Peace Officer Certificate
• Must pass a written exam, physical exam, and drug screen
• Must complete a fitness test
• Must hold a Class C Texas Drivers License in good standing and with a good record
• Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor offense above the grade of a Class C misdemeanor within the last five years; must never have been convicted at any time of a felony offense
• Must pass an oral review board
• Must pass an extensive background check

Starting pay for a police officers is currently $16.95 per hour. Experienced applicants may be offered more at the discretion of the Chief of Police.

Starting pay for a dispatcher is currently $12.38 per hour
