The Angleton Police Department will be hosting a Junior Citizen’s Police Academy for area youth between the ages of 13 – 17 years of age. The Academy will be held at the Angleton Police Department Training Room the week of June 9 th – 13 th, 2008 from 9:00am – 4:00pm. Lunch will be provided.
A range of topics will be covered including Narcotics/Alcohol, DWI, Building Searches using SWAT tactics, Defensive Tactics, “Shoot – Don’t Shoot” scenarios, Patrol Functions, Criminal Investigation, and working a mock crime scene. Class time will be divided between instruction and actual “hands on” participation.
This free academy is a great experience for teenagers with an interest in law enforcement and gives a behind-the-scenes look at a working police department. Contact Sgt. Quenton Rush or Asst.
