  The Angleton Police Department was formed in 1953. At the time it was formed the police department consisted of the Chief of police and two patrolmen. The police department now has 37 sworn officers and 13 civilian personnel serving a population of nearly 20,000 residents.

UP COMMING JUNIOR CPA ACADEMY
   
 

The Angleton Police Department will be hosting a Junior Citizen’s Police Academy for area youth between the ages of 13 – 17 years of age. The Academy will be held at the Angleton Police Department Training Room the week of June 9 th – 13 th, 2008 from 9:00am – 4:00pm. Lunch will be provided.  

A range of topics will be covered including Narcotics/Alcohol, DWI, Building Searches using SWAT tactics, Defensive Tactics, “Shoot – Don’t Shoot” scenarios, Patrol Functions, Criminal Investigation, and working a mock crime scene. Class time will be divided between instruction and actual “hands on” participation.

 This free academy is a great experience for teenagers with an interest in law enforcement and gives a behind-the-scenes look at a working police department. Contact Sgt. Quenton Rush or Asst. NEW PATROL OPENNINGS

   
 

Effective 02/13/2008 the Angleton Police Department is currently accepting applications for one Patrol Officer and one Dispatcher, applications will be accepted until positions are filled. An application can be obtained from the Angleton Police Department or downloaded from this site. The minimum starting pay is $15.84 hr for Patrol Officer and $12.38 for Dispatch. Chosen Applicants will be notified about testing dates.

The Angleton Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association (ACPAAA) has pledged to assist the Angleton Police Department with purchasing updated equipment.

To accumulate between $108,000 and $126,000 the Alumni will be offering personalized pavers to be placed in front of the Police Department around the flagpoles. This will become an area of quiet reflection. A concept design approved by the Alumni Association is shown at right. It may change, depending on the number of pavers sold. Each paver is made of sleek black granite measuring 4 by 8 inches and is engraved using state-of-the-art laser technology to ensure strength and durability for years to come.
